In Memory of David Garland II, born July 11, 1974, to Gail Taylor and David G. Roberson in Durham, N.C., died unexpectedly Dec. 27, 2009, in San Angelo, Texas, where he was stationed at Goodfellow AFB. He was a Technical Sergeant with the 316th Training Squadron and the Chief of Training.
Dave’s commitment and career in the Air Force spanned 15 years and was always front and center. But his real passion was bass fishing. He could stay on the water, in a boat, with a jug of water and a fishing rod forever. Through his passion, he created a business and an amazing swim-bait that he designed and handcrafted himself. His motto for his business and his life was “Drop the Fairy Wand and pick up the Big Stick.” In other words, don’t be afraid to go for the real thing!
Dave was a “go to guy” and lived life “out loud”. There was nothing too difficult or impossible for him to tackle. He could find a way to make it happen. His smile, his laugh and incredible sense of humor were a trademark.
Donations can be made in memory of David G. Roberson II made payable to Warriors on the Water, c/o Hal Adshire, 509 Rabbit Run Lane, Cameron, NC 28236. To learn more about Warriors on the Water visit www.warriorsonthewater.com
